Director of Bands  –  Letha Pilgrim

Ms. Pilgrim earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas with an All Level Certification for the State of Texas. With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Ms. Pilgrim brings a wealth of knowledge to her students. She has taught in many formats including private lessons, master classes, and public school band programs. Ms. Pilgrim has also performed in many venues including orchestra, pit orchestra, wind ensembles, chamber groups, marching band and solo performances. Her performing opportunities have included Mexico, Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Costa Rica and extensively throughout the United States. She also has considerable experience with church music including support roles on worship teams and as worship leader. Her desire is to provide a high-quality music program that exudes excellence. She loves working with students as they discover their musical abilities. Ms. Pilgrim homeschools her own children and enjoys every minute she has with them. Ms. Pilgrim is the founder of CCHFA and is currently serving as the Director of Bands.

Associate Director of Bands – Karl Lampe

Mr. Lampe earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Master’s degree specializing in Music Theory from San Diego State University. Having recently relocated to McKinney, Texas from San Diego, California he currently holds a temporary All Level Teaching certificate for the State of Texas. Mr. Lampe has taught private lessons, master classes, small groups and public school band and public school orchestra programs. Mr. Lampe has performed in a variety of venues including solo performance, orchestra, band and marching band, chamber groups and wind ensembles. He has performed in the United States, Mexico, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France and England. Mr. Lampe recently retired as a California music educator, where he spent the last 12 years building the elementary and middle school instrumental music programs in beautiful Ramona, California. He currently resides in McKinney, with his wife René; living close to his daughter, son-in-law and three beautiful grandchildren.
